Press Release Body: Following 16 professional Muay Thai fighters, representing 12 countries, through an evolving series of outdoor challenges and real sanctioned matches over 15 episodes on TV, the show's Finale at the Singapore Indoor Stadium will feature one night of fist fighting fury and action, from which will emerge the ultimate fight champion.
Besides The Contender Asia Finale fight, highlights for the evening include some of the top ranking contenders of the World Muay Thai Council (WMC) who have appeared in the show - Australia's John Wayne Parr, France's Rafik Bakkouri, UAE's Dzhabar Askerov, Thailand's Yodsenklai, Singapore's Kim Khan Zaki (Zach), Switzerland's Zidov Domnik, and many more!

Full Force, Massive Production! Following the format of weekly elimination fights, the highly-anticipated 15-episode series airs weekly on AXN Cable Channel and soon on MediaCorp's Channel 5.
With current viewership of 200 million people, spanning 22 countries including Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and India on the AXN Cable Channel, our local viewers will get the chance to be part of the action when it airs for the first time in Singapore on Channel 5 (scheduled for March 2008).
The Contender Asia is an unscripted drama about the lives, fears, triumphs, dreams and hopes of the best 16 professional Muay Thai fighters from 12 countries, vying for a total prize pool of US$250,000 and the chance to change their lives and the fortunes of their families forever.
Filming of the 15-episode series commenced in Singapore last September at iconic landmarks like Haw Par Villa, Sentosa, Singapore Botanic Gardens, Singapore River and Chinatown - allowing viewers the world over to catch glimpses of Singapore's rich heritage and her melting pot of cultures.
With direction from the creator of internationally acclaimed reality TV series, Mr Mark Burnett (President and Founder of Mark Burnett Productions), and the brainchild of this special project, Mr Riaz Mehta (Chief Executive Officer of Imagine OmniMedia and Executive Producer), local audiences can expect one of the most intense and exciting championship events in sports history at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 12 April 2008.
Large video screens will be set up in the arena to provide full high definition views of the event action - from the fighters making their signature entrances, to victory celebrations and full-on fights in the ring!
